On Sunday, July 19th 2015, music fans representing every corner of the world made way to the historic Centennial Olympic Park in the heart of downtown ATL, to experience the international music event of the summer Passport Experience Festival (#PXPFest) geared to unite American, Caribbean, European, Latino & African music fans together for one day under one sun, a feat which deemed impossible until now.
The event featured some of today’s top artists in the fields of Afrobeat, Reggae, Hip Hop & EDM as well as many of the world’s renowned DJs. A total of 20 acts representing the U.S. namely Atlanta, Miami, New York, from Africa; Kenya, Senegal, Nigeria, Zambia, & Liberia, from the Caribbean Islands; Jamaica, Trinidad & Haiti and from South America, the Dominican Republic took stage to a sold out energetic crowd.
$1 off every ticket bought was contributed to the Akon Lighting Africa Solar Academy, bringing power to an estimated 600 Million African residents lacking electricity in 14 countries.
